We are pleased to announce that the Call for Proposals for the 2018 National Humanities Conference is now available! The conference, to be held November 8-11, 2018 in New Orleans, in conjunction with the city’s tricentennial celebration.

Announcing an NEH Summer Institute in 2018 for College and University Faculty, The Book: Material Histories and Digital Futures. The four-week Institute will take place June 18 to July 13, 2018 at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). Applications for the Institute are accepted from now until March 1. Successful applicants receive a stipend of $3300, which are intended to defray travel and living costs. An Update from Brian Stipelman, Chair of the CCHA Deans’ Committee

At last month’s national conference of the Community College Humanities Association, thirteen community college deans responsible for Humanities education at their respective institutions convened to form the first CCHA Deans’ Committee. This body will serve as an instrument by which Deans of Humanities can affirm the value of Humanities education while working collaboratively to expand its scope and relevance within and beyond higher education.
