Opportunities with SHAFR: The Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations

CCHA Historians and anyone else with an interest in history, we have been contacted by The Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) letting us know that they would like to bolster the community college faculty representation in their organization, so please take a moment to become more familiar with SHAFR and their many opportunities, some of which are listed below. SHAFR is a dynamic organization with their own events, conferences, and publications, so please consider taking a look into their valuable work.

2017 Summer Meeting in Arlington, VA

The conference theme is “Power, Publics, and the United States in the World” and the conference will take place from Thursday, June 22nd , until Saturday, Jumne 24th. Proposals are still being accepted, but only until December 1st.

 

2017 SHAFR Summer Institute at Clare College, Cambridge University, UK

Applications are being accepted through January 20, 2017 for the 10th annual SHAFR Summer Institute, which will take place July 3-7, 2017 at Clare College, Cambridge University, UK.  The theme is “Security And The State: Cultures Of National Security And Insecurity In American Foreign Relations”

 

Please also note the following Call for Papers for the 2017 McMullen Naval History Symposium

The History Department of the United States Naval Academy invites proposals for papers to be presented at the 2017 McMullen Naval History Symposium on these and any other topics related to American or world, naval and maritime history. Proposals are due by 13 February 2017 and the Symposium will be held 14-15 September 2017 at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
