Purview: Membership, Affiliations, and Special Projects
Tooma, as Deputy Executive Director, works alongside the other National Directors to help run the day-to-day operations of CCHA. His roles include collaborating with the National Publications Director, working towards relaunching the organization’s peer-reviewed journal: “The Review,” developing marketing strategies for 2017, and performing affiliate outreach (until a formal Marketing & Affiliate Outreach Director is appointed). He envisions CCHA as a year-round entity where not a season will go by without something happening.
Tooma is from northern New Jersey. His BA (English Literature & Secondary Education) and MA (English Writing) were earned at William Paterson University. He is a published writer of both poetry and prose as well as an award-nominated documentary filmmaker. In 2017, Tooma was awarded his Doctorate from Drew University.
